My name is Marcia Lord and I am a birth and postnatal Doula based in North London. I have 5 children which includes 4 year old twins.

A Doula mothers the mother (and she looks after the father as well).  Giving birth is an intimate time and a time where women most need to feel safe and secure.  A Doula helps to provide that. She will stay with you whilst you labour and give birth to your baby.

A Postnatal Doula will help you settle in at home with your new baby. She is there to help answer your questions and to empower you to be the mother that you want to be. She will help you establish feeding your baby and will assist you as you learn to care for your child.

A Postnatal Doula enables you to stop and rest when you need to. She can help screen your visitors, and she can fill your freezer.
